Cynthia Berry - Club Founder and Chair

Cynthia Berry is an experienced and very well qualified coach. She is also a qualified PE Teacher. Cynthia has a vast amount of experience in the sport, having been involved at all levels from Administration roles, (Director of the Scottish Canoe Association 2013-2015 and Great Britain Team Selection Panel 2015-2016), through to competing at the highest level, winning three World Championship Bronze medals.

With a Masters degree in Performance Coaching and the Current 200m and 500m Scottish Sprint Champion she is well placed to support and develop young paddlers.

Coaching Qualifications - British Canoeing (BC) level 3 Canoe and Kayak Coach, BC level 2 Slalom Coach, BC level 3 Wild Water racing Coach, BC.

Marianne Patrick - Club Coach and Treasurer

Marianne has been paddling since her university days and got involved again in the sport when ESKC was founded.

Coaching qualifications - BC Level 1 canoe and kayak coach, currently undertaking Level 2 sprint award

Scottish Masters Sprint Champion 2018, 2019

Andy Douglas - Club Coach

Andy has been paddling since he was very young. He is currently in the Premier Division in Canoe slalom. He is studying for a BSc in Sport and Physical Activity at Strathclyde University.

Coaching Qualifications - BC level 1 canoe and Kayak Coach, awaiting final assessment for BC Level 2, Slalom specific module.

Wojciech Sekula - Club Coach

Wojciech has been paddling for over 15 years, he was in the Polish National team from 1999-2006. He was a finalist at Senior, U23 and Junior level at the European Championships and The Worlds. He is also a qualified PE Teacher.

Coaching Qualification - Level 3 Slalom specific Coach.

In addition to our excellent, regular Club Coaches, the Club also mentor some of their more experienced paddlers to gain Coaching and Leadership qualifications in order to assist and coach those less experienced paddlers.
